Shri B.S. Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School Golden Jubilee Celebration & 50th Annual Day A Grand Cultural Evening
The 50th Annual Festival (Golden Jubilee) of Shri B.S. Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School, Mambalam, was celebrated with great joy and grandeur on 25th July 2026 at Kamaraj Arangam. To witness this glorious milestone of half a century, the program began with a prayer song followed by Tamil Thai Vazhlthu.
Ganesh Vandana – Anantha Narthan A graceful invocation that set the spiritual tone of the evening, blending devotion with artistry. The rhythmic movements created an atmosphere of reverence and joy.The Honorable Chief Guest, Shri J.C.D. Prabhakar, Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion. The Guest of Honour, Shri Rajesh Chandan, President – JITO Chennai , was also present.
Chairman Shri Harish Metha, Vice Chairman Shri Madanlal Gundecha, Managing Trustee Shri Paras Singh Munoth , Secretary Shri Nirmal Nahar, Correspondent Shri Rajkumar Jain, Principal Mrs. Rohini Muthusamy, Vice Principal Mrs. D. Maheshwari, and all teachers joined the prayer. The grand opening began with a mesmerising classical dance performance. The Chief Guest lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the program. Guests were honored with shawls, garlands, and mementos. The principal presented the Annual Report highlighting the school’s achievements was screened.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Secretary Shri Nirmal Nahaar. In his speech, he welcomed all guests through an audio-visual presentation and emphasized that dedication, cooperation, and trust have been the greatest strengths behind this golden achievement. An engaging audio-visual presentation titled “From Then to Now” depicted the school’s proud journey from its inception to the present day. The hall resounded with applause. On this grand occasion, the school’s former Principals were honored with shawls and mementos.
This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. The Chief Guest awarded prizes to senior students of Classes X and XII, inspiring them to move forward. Teachers were also recognized with special awards for their outstanding service. An art exhibition featuring students’ creative works was also organized, which received high praise from all guests.
The Chief Guest, in his address, lauded the school’s glorious contribution over 50 years. He highlighted the institution’s role in providing modern facilities such as AI, computers, music, and dance, ensuring holistic development of students. Continuing the program, Distinguished Guest Shri Rajesh Chandan said that education is not merely about memorizing books. He emphasized that children should become self-reliant and learn ways to protect themselves.
Correspondent Shri Rajkumar Jain delivered the official Vote of Thanks with warmth and dignity, expressing gratitude to the esteemed guests, management, teachers, parents, and students. His words of appreciation set the perfect tone, after which the vibrant cultural events unfolded, filling the evening with celebration and joy.
Throughout the Annual Day, students presented one captivating performance after another. The proud resonance of the SBSM Anthem. Kindergarten children performed dance “From Seed to Tree.” Class I and II students “Disco: Udaan.” Classes III to V enchanted the audience with “Shruti Laya,” a musical melody. Karishma, while Tab Se Ab traced the school’s golden journey. The youthful energy of Beat Street electrified the stage, and Madhura Smrithi evoked nostalgic memories. Students from Classes VI to XII staged plays, music, the English drama “Medusa – The Golden Paradox,” a humorous Tamil skit “Naalayaval,” Finally, Nrithya Lahari, leaving the audience enchanted and a dazzling UV dance.
At the conclusion, the School Pupil Leader, Ms.Joshitha shared her thoughts , the evening gracefully concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem that marked the dignified close of the celebration.
