Shri B.S. Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School, Mambalam, proudly hosted the much-anticipated TECHTOPIA 2K25 on 5th July 2025 — a vibrant interschool science expo that celebrated innovation, imagination, and scientific spirit. The event began on a reverent note with a soulful prayer, invoking blessings for a day of creativity and discovery. With over 300 students from nine reputed schools participating in 36 competitions — from AI innovations, sustainable model-making, and coding marathons to tech quizzes and science demonstrations — the expo served as a powerful platform for students from Kindergarten to Class 12 to explore, experiment, and express their scientific ideas. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri. Chandramouli Padmanabhan, Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras, along with dignitaries including Managing Trustee Shri Paras Singh Munoth, Secretary Shri Nirmal Nahar, Correspondent Shri Rajkumar Jain, Management Committee Member Mr. Piyush Bhandari, Mr. Manish from the MYRA Centre of Excellence (the school’s STEAM Lab partner), and the school’s dynamic Principal, Mrs. S. Deivanai, whose leadership and vision shaped the success of the event. Special appreciation was extended to the spirited HOD, Mrs. D. Vaishnavi, and the dedicated Science Department for curating a day of learning and inspiration. A significant milestone of the day was the inauguration of the school’s state-of-the-art STEAM Labs and Composite Science Labs, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to experiential and interdisciplinary education. Cultural highlights such as ‘Echo Chic Couture’ — a sustainable fashion walk by kindergarteners, and technology, and ‘Science in Silence’ — a mime performance on artificial intelligence, added artistic brilliance to the scientific festivities. The event concluded with a grand Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution, celebrating the remarkable efforts and achievements of all participating schools. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Overall Championship Trophy, which was awarded to SBOA School and Junior College for their outstanding performance. DAV Public School, Velachery, and Alpha School secured the second and third places, respectively, showcasing exceptional creativity, teamwork, and innovation. TECHTOPIA 2K25 was not just an event — it was a celebration of scientific temper, sustainability, and collaborative excellence, reinforcing the belief that science is the true engine of societal transformation. The day ended on a solemn and patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, uniting all participants in a moment of national pride and gratitude.
